Built by the Pullman Company in 1908 for the Chicago Railways, No. 225 was one of 950 cars of essentially the same type which were familiar sights on the streets of the Windy City for some 50 years. The noisiest cars on the Chicago Surface Lines system, they were affectionately known as the "Red Rockets."
