South Keene, New Hampshire

Monday, September 27, 1909, just south of old stone arch bridge. Train #518 headed south had orders to meet the Green Mountain Flyer (Train #517) at South Keene siding. Engine 1138 hit derail and turned over. The meet usually was as Summit Siding, but Flyer was late out of Boston. Engineer William Phelan and Fireman Patridge both jumped to safety.
