The Cog Railway begins at the Base Station (Marshfield), directly at the foot of Mt. Washington and from this point up 3 1/2 miles lies one of the most interesting and scenic trips in America. It goes over the famous "Jacob's Ladder" where the zone of vegitation is passed.
