New Meets the Old

77 years of progress in street railway cars. No. 396 is a product of the St. Louis Car Co. having been the latest thing in 1900. No. 3419 is a product of Boeing-Vertol of Philadelphia. It is one of 175 new Light Rail Vehicles purchased by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston. The cars are seen here on the Highland Branch at Riverside in Newton, Massachusetts. May 18, 1977.
