Biddeford & Saco Railroad No. 31

Twelve bench open car 31 was built in 1900 by J. G. Brill Co. of Philadephia and served the southern Maine communities until 1939. Because this car is so representative of an earlier American transportation era, it was chosen for preservation. No. 31 is the first electric trolley car to be preserved by any organization with the intention of operating it. Thus future generations can experience the sights, sounds, and motions of an open trolley car. It is on display and is occasionally operated at the Seashore Trolley Museum, Kennebunkport, Maine.
