New Haven 141

The first two Budd units on this train were part of two experimental trains tried out on the New Haven. The one shown is the former "Roger Williams" which had two cab unit Budd cars and three blind unit Budd cars. The "Roger Williams" was the more successful ofthe two trains. In the end it was as shown here at Needham Junction, Massachusetts, used for local passenger service. Later it was taken over by Amtrak where it ran on several named trains over the New Haven and Boston & Albany lines. June 2, 1970.
