On February 3rd 1983, the resumption of ths operational control of the Providence & Worcester Company took place after almost 85 years of being leased to the New Haven Railroad and of late the Penn Central. Shown here at Woonsocket, Rhode Island is one of five diesel units acquired from the Delaware & Hudson. The engines are numbered 161 to 165. February 14, 1973.
